Welcome to Tadhkir. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application and website.

02 · Website Cookies & Local Storage

The Tadhkir website does not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or marketing pixels. It uses limited browser storage only to make the website more useful:

• Your last-read Qur’an position and reader preferences, including reciter, Arabic text size, translation and word meanings
• An anonymous community-board voter ID and your previous votes, to help prevent duplicate voting
• A session-only preference recording that the welcome animation has already been shown

These preferences remain in your browser and are not used to build an advertising profile or track you across other websites. You can remove them at any time by clearing this website’s stored data in your browser settings.

03 · Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways:

• Personal Data: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information from your Google or Apple account.
• Location Data: With your permission, we collect location data to provide accurate prayer times and Qibla direction.
• Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including prayer tracking, streak data, and preferences.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version.
• Spiritual Buddy & Family Circle Data: If you use these optional features, we collect the information described in the section below.

04 · How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide accurate prayer times based on your location
• Calculate Qibla direction
• Track your prayer history and streaks
• Sync your data across devices
• Improve our services and user experience
• Send prayer time notifications (with your permission)
• Send reminders to your buddy or family when you haven't logged a prayer, if you use Spiritual Buddy or Family Circle
• Provide customer support

05 · Spiritual Buddy & Family Circle

Spiritual Buddy and Family Circle are optional. They only become active when you link with a buddy or join a family. So that reminders can work even when your phone is closed, we then store the following on our servers:

• Your display name, so the people you're linked with can see who you are
• Your prayer times for about the next two weeks (when each prayer's time ends), and whether and when you logged each prayer
• Your buddy links, the families you belong to and your role in them, and the invite codes you create (invite codes expire after 7 days)
• Whether your Tadhkir Pro subscription is active, as reported by RevenueCat, because these features depend on it

Only the people you're linked with - your buddies and the members of your families - can see your name and which prayers you've logged. If you haven't logged a prayer shortly before its time ends, they may receive a notification naming you and that prayer, so they can remind you. If you share an invite link, anyone who opens it can see your name (and, for a family invite, the family's name). This information is never made public or used for advertising. You can remove a buddy or leave a family at any time, and deleting your account in the app removes your buddy links, family memberships, name and prayer schedule from our servers straight away.

06 · Data Storage

Your data is securely stored using Supabase, a trusted cloud database service. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

07 · Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: For authentication
• Supabase: For data storage and user management
• Aladhan API: For prayer time calculations
• RevenueCat: For subscription management (premium features)
• Firebase (Google): For push notifications, including buddy and family reminders, crash reports, and app usage analytics

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.

08 · Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of your data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt-out of notifications
• Withdraw consent for location access

09 · Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days. Spiritual Buddy and Family Circle data is removed immediately when you delete your account in the app.

10 · Children's Privacy

Our app is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

11 · Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app.
