01 · Salawat #1

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have honoured and had mercy upon Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā (raḥimahullāh) said: “Kaʿb ibn ʿUjrah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) met me and said: ‘Shall I not give you a gift I received from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ I replied: ‘Yes of course, gift it to me.’ So he said: ‘We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, how should we invoke ṣalāh upon you, the members of the family, for Allah has taught us how to send salām upon you?” He ﷺ replied: “Say: [the above].” (Bukhārī 3370)

02 · Salawat #2

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ بَيْتِهِ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْنَا مَعَهُمْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ بَيْتِهِ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَيْنَا مَعَهُمْ ، صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ وَصَلَاةُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli baytih, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalayna maʿahum, Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli baytih, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma bārik ʿalaynā maʿahum, ṣalawātu-llāhi wa ṣalātul-mu’minīna ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and his household, as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, honour and have mercy upon us alongside them. O Allah, bless Muhammad and his household as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, bless us alongside them. May the blessings of Allah and the prayers of the believers be for Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet.

- Ibn Mas’ud (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) mentions that: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me the Tashahhud like he would teach us a surah of the Qur’an (saying): All royal greetings belong to Allah, as do prayers and good (deeds and words). May peace, the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon the Prophet. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. He then said [the above] and ‘May the peace and mercy of Allah be upon you’.” (Dāraqutnī 1338)

03 · Salawat #3

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadiw-wa azwājihī wa dhurriy-yatih, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammadi-w-wa azwājihī wa dhurriyyatih, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad, his spouses and his progeny as You have honoured and had mercy on the family of Ibrāhīm. Bless Muhammad, his spouses and his progeny as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- Abu Ḥumayd As-Saʿidī narrates that the people asked, “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How shall we send salah on you?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied: “Say [the above].” (Bukhārī 3369)

04 · Salawat #4

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ فِي الْعَالَمِيْنَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma fi-l-ʿālamīn, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm in the worlds. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said: We were sitting in the company of Saʿīd b. ʿUbaydah when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us. Bashīr b. Saʿd said: Allah has commanded us to send ṣalāh upon you. O Messenger of Allah! But how should we send salām upon you? He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept quiet (and we were so concerned over his silence) that we wished we had not asked him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: "Say [the above]." (Muslim 405)

05 · Salawat #5

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ فِي الْعَالَمِيْنَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma fi-l-ʿālamīn, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrāhīm in the worlds. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- Abu Mas'ūd (radhiAllāhu’anhu) narrates that someone asked: “Oh Messenger of Allāh! ﷺ: How can we send Salāh upon you?” The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Say”: (the above). (Ahmad 17067)

06 · Salawat #6

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad ʿabdika wa rasulik, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīm.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger, as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm. Bless Muhammad and his household as You have blessed Ibrāhīm.

- Abu Saīd Al-Khudrī (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) said: "We said: "O Messenger of Allāh, this is the Salām, but how do we send Salāh upon you?" He ﷺ said: "Say: (the above).". (Bukhāri 4798)

07 · Salawat #7

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إبْرَاهِيْمَ إنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- K'ab bin Ujra (radiAllāhu anhu) narrates : "It was said: "O Allāh's Messenger ﷺ ! We know how to greet you, but how do we invoke Salaāh upon you?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Say: (the above)." (Bukhāri 4797)

08 · Salawat #8

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ وَاٰلِ إبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ ، كَمَا باَرَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīm, wa āli Ibrāhīma, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and the family of Muhammad, as You have honoured and had mercy upon Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, as You have blessed Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

- Abu Mas'ūd (radiAllāhu anhu) narrates that once a person came and sat right in front of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, we were also there, and he said: "O Messenger of Allāh! We have learned the way to send Salām upon you, how do we send Salāh upon you when we are praying our salah?." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent upon his question for so long that we began to think that it would have been better if this man had not asked the question. He ﷺ then said: "Say: (the above)." (Aḥmad 17072)

09 · Salawat #9

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and his household.

- Zayd b. Khārijah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Send salawāt upon me, be persistent in du'ā and say [the above]." (Nasā’ī in Sunan al-Sughrā 1292)

10 · Salawat #10

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْزِلْهُ الْمَقْعَدَ الْمُقَرَّبَ عِنْدَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِِ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad. Allāhumma anzilhu-l-maqʿada-l muqarraba ʿindaka yawma-l-qiyāmah.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad. O Allah, grant him the station of proximity with You on the Day of Judgement.
